Frank Bridger stole his first car when he was seven. Some older Mexican kids he hung out with dared him to do it, so he found a car with the keys in it. It was parked on the street in his neighborhood, and he jumped in and took off. He was too little to press the gas and see over the dashboard at the same time, so he drove three blocks at seven miles an hour, jumped a curb and smacked into a telephone pole. When he crawled out of the wreck, he was hooked.
